Whitlock Mills
Jersey City, NJ I 2020
Info
Whitlock Mills is a multi-building development, located within the Bergen-Lafayette neighborhood of Jersey City. The project site is an important landmark within Jersey City and was once home to The Whitlock Cordage Company. This development includes the adaptive reuse of five historic industrial buildings as well as the construction of 29 modular buildings.
Development of Whitlock Mills began back in 2006 and stalled out before finishing the construction and renovation of all the buildings and site work. Inglese Architecture and Engineering stepped in to complete the project and provided civil, architectural, structural, and MEP design services. This project was awarded a 2020 New Jersey Future Smart Growth Award.
