Cara Constantino
Bachelor of Architecture | New Jersey Institute of Technology
Master of Science in Sustainable Design | New Jersey Institute of Technology
Before joining the IAE team, Cara spent three years as a Project Coordinator at a small, private architectural practice in Newark, NJ. Her work there focused on a variety of commercial projects including tenant fit-outs for a number of existing NYC high rise buildings as well as new construction facilities for a fortune-500 energy company based in Atlanta, GA. The size of this firm and fast-paced nature of the urban client base provided a substantial opportunity to learn and be an integral part of all phases of design and construction. Immediately prior to working in this more traditional architectural practice, Cara served as an AmeriCorps Service Member working with the Habitat for Humanity affiliate located in Paterson, NJ in support of their mission to build sustainable homes and communities. Her time spent here ignited an interest in energy efficient affordable housing, community development, and the study of building science. She believes that working with the IAE team will further her knowledge in this realm by providing exposure to multi-family affordable housing design and urban development projects that seek to improve the communities they are part of.
Cara is currently the project manager for the Westville Senior Residences which should be New Jersey’s first multi-family certified passive house.
Outside of architecture, Cara’s passion is primarily based in the natural world. She is a marathoner and travel enthusiast who’s always up for a new adventure.
