The G.G. Green Building
Woodbury, NJ | 2013
GG Green is a unique rehabilitation and redevelopment that restored a nationally-registered historic building, and helped to revive a key section of downtown in the City of Woodbury, Gloucester County. Located at the heart of downtown Woodbury— once the center of a vibrant commercial corridor — GG Green provides downtown Woodbury with 52 one-bedroom and 3 two-bedroom apartments, as well as approximately 7,000 square feet of retail space along South Broad Street.
Following the 2011 Virginia Earthquake the vacant building and attached structures, which were also vacant, were ruled structurally unsafe. The sidewalk in front of the building as well as the adjoining streets were, fenced off by the City of Woodbury who reached out to developers to take control of the property. A deal was struck to repair the building, turn the ground floor into retail space, and construct age restricted apartments on the upper floors. Inglese Architecture and Engineering provided all civil, architectural, structural and MEP design services as well as construction administration services.
